Optical
Communication Engineering Sdn. Bhd. (OCESB) was
established in 1992 by Rimbunan Hijau Group to produce optical
fibers, optical cables and associated passive devices, active
devices and accessories in Malaysia.
In 1994, OCESB expanded its expertise to produce Optical
fiber cables and acquired connectivity technology from NTT (
Japan ) under transfer of technology to produce a full range of
optical integration products. Since then OCESB has
specialize in Metro Optical Cables and Integration. OCESB was granted the following licenses by MCMC in
August 2004: -
NETWORK FACILITY PROVIDER (NFP)
LICENSE To build Metro area optic fiber
infrastructure in urban and sub-urban areas within the first few
years and later on nationwide roll out. Such infrastructures can
be used by first/last mile license holders to deploy their
services in those areas, hence stimulate broadband growth in
Malaysia rapidly and to ensure that Malaysia stays in the
forefront and beyond the broadband technology.
NETWORK SERVICE
PROVIDER (NSP) LICENSE To
supply very high bandwidth from 10Mps to 160Gbps and more in the
form of Ethernet BaseBand to those licensees wanting to deploy
in a smaller scale last mile networks as well as other ASP
license holders seeking large bandwidth to link to their
clientele, business and government Virtual LAN connectivity to
connect LAN together and broadband Internet access for
subscribers.
APPLICATION
SERVICE PROVIDER (ASP) LICENSE To
provide particular functions such as voice services, data
services, content-based services, electronic commerce and other
transmission services. Applications services are essentially the
functions or capabilities, which are delivered to end-users.
